Zero Waste Sonoma is the new name and face of the Sonoma County Waste Management Agency (SCWMA). While our mission remains unchanged, our new identity reflects our role as a government agency committed to a regional goal: achieving zero waste by 2030. This means diverting everything from landfills and finding better uses for materials.

We’re here to serve the residents and businesses of Sonoma County, helping you reduce, reuse, recycle, and manage waste in the most environmentally responsible ways. Through programs in composting, Household Hazardous Waste (HHW), and solid waste planning, we guide the community toward a cleaner future, with the support of our local jurisdictions.
