Raymond Baltar, MBA, SEC Biochar Projects Manager, brings over 10 years of experience in training field techniques for producing biochar, including the conservation burn technique and the use of flamecap kilns, using both forestry and agricultural \ materials. He manages all biochar-related projects for SEC, and recently managed two-weeks of emissions testing on flame-cap kilns and conservation burning performed by the USFS Fire Science Lab. He was Chair of the 2012 U.S. Biochar Conference; managed grant projects funded by the California Department of Water Resources, North Coast Resource
Partnership, USDA, CAL FIRE, and the Redwood Forest Foundation, He managed a biochar production facility in Mendocino County in 2019. He has overseen the emergence of SEC as a leader in biochar activities in California. Mr. Baltar holds an MBA in Sustainable Enterprise from Dominican University of California.
