Keith Abeles

Keith has worked in agriculture for over 30 years as both a producer and advocate of sustainable practices. His expertise includes water use efficiency, farm management, soil health, hedgerow design, and grower education. At the RCD, he helps growers evaluate irrigation systems and improve scheduling. He promotes vineyard soil health through workshops, articles, carbon farm plans, soil testing, and a research project on how tillage practices affect soil and moisture. Keith also assists growers in setting conservation priorities through LandSmart Plans. He holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from UC Santa Cruz, with an emphasis in agricultural ecology.
