Carolyn Flannery

After a long career in antiques and interior design, Carolyn Flannery founded Make It Home, a nonprofit that provides quality furnishings to vulnerable populations. Inspired by her dedication to foster children and her insider knowledge of industry waste, she launched the Bay Area’s first furniture bank in 2020—just as the pandemic highlighted the urgent need.

Her pivot to Make It Home reflects a dual mission: ending furniture poverty with gently used, donated items while keeping usable furnishings out of landfills and supporting those in need during COVID-19 and beyond.
