Kerry Parker

Kerry Parker has over a dozen years in materials management and source reduction experience working for the City of Alameda, where she designs and implements programs to address whatever regulations come down the ‘pike. When the young students of Alameda wanted to get rid of plastic straws to keep the sea turtles safe AT THE SAME TIME as a community-wide project to ReThink Disposable launched – Kerry came up with a plan that sharply reduced the generation of most single-use plastic food ware altogether. Hear about Alameda’s Disposable Food Service Ware Reduction Law and its background on policy-making from a Zero Waste perspective.
