Plastic Take-Back Event at Trader Joe’s Petaluma
July 30 @ 11:00 am - 11:30 am

In 2021, Americans discarded 51 metric tons of plastic. Nearly 95 percent ended up in landfills or oceans, or scattered in the atmosphere. It’s clear that we need to stop using so much plastic! As consumers, we can “vote” with our voices and dollars. Supermarkets are one place to begin.
During Zero Waste Week, join 350 Petaluma’s zero waste action group, an affiliate of Beyond Plastics, for a respectful and peaceful plastic take-back event at Petaluma Trader Joe’s. Let’s send a strong message to the CEO, urging Trader Joe’s to reduce its use of single-use plastic.
Here’s all we’re asking:
- Save the plastic you collect when you shop at Trader Joe’s. START TODAY.
- SIGN UP HERE to participate and we will send more details later.
- SIGN OUR LETTER TO TRADER JOE’S CEO HERE (whether or not you can attend the take-back event.)
- Bring your plastic to Petaluma Trader Joe’s on Sunday, July 30, 11 to 11:30 am. We’ll meet briefly outside the store and deliver our CEO letter to TJ’s store manager. [NOTE: we will not leave our plastic at the store!]
